TruMethod’s Q1 Orlando: Life & Business Planning in Practice
Our TruPeer Q1 POD28 meeting in Orlando wasn’t about tools, tactics, or chasing the next trend. Instead, we spent our time on something more foundational: clarity. Specifically, how clear goals—both personal and professional—shape better decisions, stronger leadership, and more consistent execution inside our businesses.
This quarter’s special project focused on creating a Life and Business Plan, designed to help MSP leaders align what they’re building professionally with how they’re showing up personally. We also held a candid Hot Seat session with Raj Sidhu of Intech Consulting, Inc., bringing real ownership challenges into the room for practical, peer-driven feedback.
Key Takeaways
- Clarity beats complexity. A smaller set of well-defined goals is far more powerful than an overloaded plan.
- Leadership capacity matters. Growth stalls when leaders run at full throttle without guardrails. Sustainable plans account for reality.
- Peer accountability sharpens focus. Honest questions from peers often surface the insights you can’t get on your own.
Why This Meeting Was Different
Many quarterly peer meetings naturally focus on metrics, process, and performance; and while those are important, this session went a layer deeper. The Life and Business Plan exercise challenged each of us to step back and define what a successful quarter actually looks like, and what needs to change to support it.
The conversation wasn’t aspirational, it was practical. The emphasis was on building plans that can survive real-world constraints like limited time, competing priorities, and leadership fatigue.
Special Project: Life & Business Plan
The objective of the project was simple: create a plan that’s clear enough to act on and realistic enough to maintain.
- Quarterly outcomes: what must be true by the end of the quarter
- Execution drivers: the habits and actions that create progress
- Focus guardrails: what to say no to in order to protect momentum
- Accountability: simple ways to track progress without overengineering it
When done well, this kind of planning becomes less about control and more about direction. It gives leaders a way to stay intentional even when the quarter gets busy.
Hot Seat Spotlight: Raj Sidhu (Intech Consulting, Inc.)
One of the most valuable moments of the meeting was the Hot Seat session featuring Raj Sidhu, owner of Intech Consulting, Inc. The Hot Seat format allows one member to bring a real challenge or decision to the group and receive direct, thoughtful feedback from peers who understand the realities of MSP ownership.
Raj’s discussion sparked a strong conversation around prioritization, leadership discipline, and staying focused as the business evolves. These are the kinds of insights that don’t come from presentations- they come from experience, and from peers willing to challenge each other constructively.
